Maine Memorial Ceme- tery, Augusta. Alfred Alston Theibotot 1929 2021 AUGUSTA Alfred Alston Theibotot passed from this life to Eternity on Nov. 30, 2021. He was born in Phippsburgh on Christmas Day in 1929, a son of Thomas and Flor- ence (McKenny) Theibotot. He spent his younger years with his uncles and aunts fishing and clamming on the coast in Sebas- co.

As he got older, he moved to the Bath Brunswick area where he at- tended school. At the age of 17, mother gave per- mission for him to join the military which started him on the road to an exciting and special time in his life. Al proudly served in four branches of the military: Army Air Corps, U.S. Army, Air Force, and U.S. Navy.

He was commissioned on the USS Saratoga in 1955 the first crew and a plank owner of the newest carrier of that time. He was in Japan at the end of World War II as well as the Korean Conflict. He traveled to many places and countries, and was part of the North Pole Expedition, leaving many friends be- hind. Al met his future wife, Marilyn Scovie in 1955 when he was stationed in New York at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The two married in 1957 and have been together for 67 years.

I am thankful to have had him in my life as a husband and friend. He was a special husband and father who always put his family first; there was nothing he would not do for his sons, Alan and Paul. After his mil- itary service, he returned to Maine and brought his new wife, Marilyn and son, Alan. Al and Marilyn have lived in the same house they purchased in 1965. In 1962, he joined the Au- gusta Fire Department and remained there until retire- ment.

He valued his friend- ships, and it seemed that everyone knew him, whether it be from Sears, colleagues from the State of Maine, or Hannaford. He was a com- municant of St. Parish. Al loved his Daisy, a little chal- lenged Beagle, that he got from the humane soci- ety, one of many he befriended. He was clever when it came to cars and he saved a lot of money fixing his own over the years.

When he visited his family on leave, you would always find him and his brother Willis working and fixing something on a car. He loved his sisters, Ce- lia and Minerva and teased them all the time. There is a lot to be said about this wonderful man, but it would take forever. He leaves behing his wife, Marilyn Theibotot; his sons Alan Theibotot and Paul Theibotot; his sisters Celia Alexander and her family; and Minerva Weaver and her family; his sister-in-law, Rosanna Alexander and her family; several nieces and nephews; and his extended family and friends in New York, Florida, and Califor- nia. A period of visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec.

28, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant Augusta, ME 04330. A graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at the Maine Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt.
